We think that our SLUGGERS would become a highly versatile tool for infection treatment. SLUGGERS with sialic acid bats are capable of capturing not only the influenza virus but other viruses with hemagglutinin, such as Measles, Parainfluenza and Mumps.
For other infectious diseases, we could change the SLUGGER bats correspondingly to each targeted virus, together with their positions and the size of DNA grounds.
Moreover, we expect the use of SLUGGERS for virus quantification through titration. This could be achieved once we attain the knowledge of the absorbing ratio of SLUGGERs to virus. If we prepare some virus dilution and add SLUGGER indicator, where we would drop SLUGGER dilution with known concentration, we could easily determine the concentration of the dilution.
